Nines announces final album ‘Quit While You’re Ahead’ and London O2 headline show

Nines has announced his final album ‘Quit While You’re Ahead’ as well as a headline show at London’s O2 Arena.

The British rap legend’s sixth and final album, ‘Quit While You’re Ahead’, is set for release on September 27, marking the “final chapter” of his career.

You can pre-order the album here to receive ticket pre-sale access to his final show. Tickets go on general sale on Thursday, September 19 at 10 am, and you can find tickets here.

News of the upcoming record was announced during an exclusive event at Magazine London, and involved a drone display over the O2 Arena. Accompanying the announcement is the new RQ1of1 x J3C produced single ‘Tony Soprano 3’, which comes complete with a video directed by the ‘Cuban Links’ rapper. Watch its music video below.

News of his retirement has been met with an outpouring of respect, with fans online calling him “a UK rap legend”. In the comments underneath the new single, one fan wrote that the upcoming album is “gonna be a big moment for the culture”, while another said he had the “best run in UK rap history” and would finally “be appreciated when it’s all said and done”.

NME listed Nines’ performance at Reading 2024 as one of the most magical moments of this summer’s last big blowout: “Your rapper’s favourite rapper Skrapz brought out quite a few people during his set, including Potter Payper and grime legend Kano. But none impressed as much as Church Road’s own Nines pulling up on his friend to perform his 2012 hood classic ‘CR’.

“While the crowd was drenched in a crimson hue, we screamed the infamous opening lines (“Skinny n***a with a fat belly / I was selling cheese straight off the Blackberry”). Nines and Skrapz just leisurely walked the stage with huge grins, with their legacy now stretching beyond that of local hood legends – they’re now superstars in their own right.”
