Nicki Minaj Is Apparently Thrilled That the White House Used Her Music

A viral “Beez in the Trap” mashup on the White House’s TikTok drew a gleeful reaction from Nicki Minaj and some of her fans online

Another day, another Nicki Minaj controversy on Twitter. The Grammy Award-winning rapper with a penchant for sharing her unfiltered thoughts on the internet took to her social media platform of choice over the weekend to celebrate a viral remix of her song “Beez in the Trap” mashed up with “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes being posted by the White House’s X account. First, she dropped a grateful comment beneath the video: “This is pretty incredible. Thank you.”

Then came the tweets. “The President & First Lady of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,” she posted underneath the since-deleted clip from the account. She joked that whoever uploaded the clip earned “unlimited backstage Gag City for life.” The mash-up had already been going viral before The White House video, racking up more than 700,000 videos using the audio, and close to a million plays on YouTube since being uploaded in August.

What is a bit more novel, however, is Nicki’s apparent appreciation fo the Trump White House. Where several other acts have explicitly denounced the Trump Administration using their songs in various clips, Nicki seems to have taken the moment in stride. It aligns with some of the more conservative takes as of late. Just before she was thanking Trump for using her song, Nicki shared Trump’s statements about allegedly persecuted Christians in Nigeria thanking him for speaking out on the subject.

Is this all part of a Maga turn for Nicki? At this point, nothing is surprising anymore.
