Nicki Minaj Deactivates Her Instagram Account Without Explanation

The Barbz were left confused on Monday night (Oct. 20) after finding out that Nicki Minaj had deactivated her Instagram account.

Minaj didn’t give an explanation, but continued to fire away on X into Tuesday (Oct. 21), where she posted an AI-generated image of Jay-Z in a wig, took a shot at Charlamagne Tha God and claimed Gucci Mane’s wife, Keyshia Ka’Oir, has been “trying” to be like her “for years.”

“Gucci wife has been trying to be me for years,” she began. “Been dying for the spotlight for years.”

Tuesday also serves as Minaj’s sixth wedding anniversary with husband Kenneth Petty, and she posted plenty of pics and interacted with fans regarding the occasion. “God bless you, my love. Happy Anniversary Thank you,” she wrote alongside photos of the couple.

Billboard has reached out to Nicki’s reps for comment.

As far as the IG deactivation goes, fans had more questions than answers. However, some pointed to bars from 2018’s “Barbie Tingz.” “Had to come off IG so they can’t stalk me,” Minaj raps on the track.

Earlier this week, Nicki crowned herself “Billionaire Barbie” on X and then promised that her album was back on track to arrive in March after previously saying plans had been scrapped, so the Barbz can still look forward to new music from Minaj.

“I could put out an album tomorrow and still revolutionize the industry yet again on 3.27.26,” she wrote in a since-deleted post on X. “And then turn around and still release another blockbuster 4th quarter of 26.”
