New Order, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Garbage are among the names leading the Cruel World Festival 2025 line-up.
Next year’s edition is set to kick off on May 17 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Also on the line-up are The Go-Gos, Devo, Madness, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, ‘Til Tuesday, Alison Moyet, Death Cult, Mareux, She Wants Revenge, and Chelsea Wolfe.
Tickets for Cruel World Festival will go on sale on Friday, October 25, at 11am PT, but fans can register now for early access.
Since its debut in 2022, previous editions of the rock, new wave and post-punk festival have included performances by Morrissey, Blondie, Iggy Pop and Billy Idol.
The 2025 festival will be the final stop of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ North American Wild God Tour, celebrating their critically acclaimed 18th studio album of the same name.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Garbage were forced to cancel their remaining shows for 2024 due to an injury sustained by frontwoman Shirley Manson.
Although details at the time were sparse, the statement shared at the time did say that the NME Icon Award-winner would “require surgery and rehabilitation to correct” her injury, and that the decision to cancel shows was not “taken lightly”.
Manson recently took to social media and told fans that she has undergone a successful surgical procedure, and is on the road to recovery.
In other New Order news, the band have marked World Mental Health Day by joining forces with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) for a new suicide prevention video. The video was shared across the band’s and the charity’s social media platforms earlier this month (October 10), and was created in a bid to raise awareness for those struggling with suicidal thoughts.
Last month the band announced a deluxe box set reissue of their 1986 studio album ‘Brotherhood’.
