My Bloody Valentine Plot First Shows in Seven Years

The shoegaze legends will perform a brief trek in the U.K. this fall

My Bloody Valentine is back. This fall, the shoegaze legends will tour for the first time in seven years.

The brief U.K. trek kicks off on Nov. 22 in Dublin, initially a one-off show the band announced late last year. They’ll then head to England, with evenings in Manchester (Nov. 24), London (Nov. 25), and Glasgow (Nov. 27). Tickets go on sale Fri., April 4 at 10 a.m. BST.

The Dublin date marks My Bloody Valentine’s first headlining show in Ireland since 1992, while the tour marks their first U.K. trek since 2013. Their last official tour was seven years ago, when they performed a series of shows in North America in 2018.

As of 2021, the band was reportedly working on two new albums. That same year, their catalog hit streaming via a deal with Domino, making their 1988 debut Isn’t Anything, the beloved 1991 album Loveless, and 2013’s MBV available online. That deal also included the release of the 2012 compilation EPs 1988 – 1991 and Rare Tracks, which featured the fan favorite EP, 1988’s You Made Me Realise.

In 2017, the band remastered their albums from fully analog resources. In an interview with Rolling Stone at the time, frontman Kevin Shields spoke about that perfect yet painstaking process — and reflected on the legacy of Loveless. “Until I’m dead, I will be exploring stuff,” he told us. “It’s not like I have an idea that I realize and go, ‘OK, that’s done, now the next.’ It’s more like a thing you explore and realize.”
