Miley Cyrus shares concern about Sabrina Carpenter’s demanding tour schedule: “I don’t know how that could be physically OK”

Miley Cyrus has voiced her concern for Sabrina Carpenter’s wellbeing due to her exhausting touring schedule.

The ‘Espresso’ singer is currently in between legs of her ‘Short N’ Sweet Tour’, which took her across North America in the final months of 2024 and around the UK and Europe earlier this year.

She also recently headlined Primavera Sound in Barcelona and is set to play two nights at BST Hyde Park in early July, where she’ll be joined by Clairo, Beabadoobee and Olivia Dean – visit here for remaining tickets. The ‘Short N’ Sweet Tour’ then picks up again in October in the US and finally wraps in Los Angeles on November 23.

The intensity of Carpenter’s timetable has left an impression on Cyrus, who has told the New York Times: “Every time I see her, I have the urge to ask her if she’s OK.”

“I’ll see she’s performing in Ireland, and then the next day she’s doing a show in Kansas. And I’m like, ‘I don’t know how that could be physically OK,’ because I was in that situation. I know what it feels like to fry yourself, and I don’t want anyone else to get fried.”

She went on to clarify that she is a fan of Carpenter, adding: “I like all the new girls. I think they’re all unique and are very found. That’s what I like to see. I like people that have found themselves, because I don’t think I had myself totally figured out yet.”

This week, Carpenter announced her new album ‘Man’s Best Friend’, which will be released on August 29. It will include the lead single ‘Manchild’, the video for which sees her casting aside the inept men in her life as she hitchhikes across the US.

The ‘Man’s Best Friend’ artwork, which sees her kneeling on the floor as an unidentified person stands beside her and pulls on her hair, has drawn criticism from a women’s charity, who described it as “a throwback to tired tropes that reduce women to pets, props and possessions and promote an element of violence and control”.

Carpenter has responded to the critique, saying: “I’m living in the glory of no one hearing it or knowing about it, and so I can not care. I can not give a fuck about it, because I’m just so excited.”

As for Cyrus, she released her new album ‘Something Beautiful’ last month and the film accompaniment is coming to UK cinemas on June 27 – find tickets here.
