The singer recently appeared in a cover story for Harper’s Bazaar, where she commented on the public backlash against Chappell Roan.

The former NME Cover star has previously spoken out against “weird” and “creepy” followers, and calling out the “predatory behaviour” of so-called “superfans” that includes “nonconsensual physical and social interactions”.

In her Harper’s Bazaar cover story, Cyrus revealed she had reached out to Roan in the wake of her comments about predatory superfans, adding: “I wish people would not give her a hard time.

“It’s probably really hard coming into this business with phones and Instagram,” she added. “That wasn’t always a part of my life, and I’m not a part of it now. I don’t even have my Instagram password.”

Roan previously spoke out about Miley Cyrus’ impact on her, speaking in support of the pop star after she was named the youngest-ever Disney Legend.

“The thing that I admire about Miley Cyrus is that she constantly reinvents herself and always works,” she said. “For a lot of artists, it can seem inauthentic or out of the blue, but she’s very open about her transformations artistically and personally, and she’s so true to herself. She puts out music that is so authentic.

“Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana tour with Jonas Brothers opening was my first concert ever. She came down in a box from the ceiling. I was like, ‘How do I do that one day?’ I still think about it. I still think about the show. I want to be like Hannah Montana.

“There’s a lot of crossover between Miley and my project, and it’s just like, I’m such a fan too.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Miley Cyrus has revealed she is working on a Pink Floyd-inspired new album ‘Something Beautiful’.

“My idea was making ‘The Wall’, but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture,” she said, adding: “It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.”
