Metallica Go All In On Life Burns Faster Sphere Residency, Bump Total Number of Shows Up to 24

Metallica are all-in on their Las Vegas residency at the Sphere. After initially rolling out an eight-show run at the state-of-the-art venue, on Thursday (March 5) the metal icons announced “this is it — we’re maxing out Life Burns Faster.”

As is often the case with the Sphere, a handful of initial dates expanded with the addition of more gigs — in this case another six shows, then six more, and now, an additional four pack, bringing the total up to 24, which the band swear is their final figure.

The freshly added shows will push the band further into 2027 with dates booked for March 4 & 6 and March 11 & 13. The fan club presale for Legacy and Fifth Members will open at 10 a.m. ET on Friday (March 6), followed by a Ticketmaster artist presale opening at noon today to those previously registered for the Ticketmaster artist presale. Tickets for the entire residency run will go on sale today beginning at 1 p.m. ET, with purchase windows staggered by show date; click here for ticket information.

Metallica have said that the shows will continue the No Repeat Weekend tradition that began with the 2023 launch of their expansive M72 world tour, which means fans can expect no songs repeated on each Thursday and Saturday throughout the run.

“About 12 seconds into the opening night of  Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!,’” Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said in a statement announcing the original shows, the first by a hard rock/metal band at the venue that has hosted everyone from U2 to Phish, Anyma, Kenny Chesney, the Backstreet Boys and the Zac Brown Band, among others. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way f–kin’ psyched to go next level!”
