Megan Thee Stallion announces new documentary ‘In Her Words’

Megan Thee Stallion has announced a new documentary film, In Her Words.

Last night (October 14), the ‘Mamushi’ rapper took to social media to announce the two-hour-long film, which is due to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on October 31. The film will chronicle the rapper’s rise to fame and her constant evolution as an artist.

Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words offers unprecedented access to the multi-faceted woman behind the persona,” a synopsis for the film reads. “Follow the Houston native’s journey on the road to stardom as she tenaciously navigates fame, grief, pressure, and success. The documentary unpacks Megan’s most vulnerable moments in a powerful way that allows fans to meet the real Megan Pete.”

The documentary comes towards the end of a particularly big year for the rapper. This year, the rapper released her third studio album, ‘Megan’, closed out a UK and European tour with a five-star concert at the O2, and most recently hosted and performed at the MTV VMAs.

In a four-star review of ‘Megan’, Karen Gwee wrote for NME: “All facets of Megan Thee Stallion have been on display throughout her career, from freestyles to mixtapes to studio albums. But they’ve not sounded this cohesive together till now (yes, even ‘Worthy’, with its self-empowerment mantra of a chorus and peppy pop-guitar beat). When the sizzling guitar solo rings out on ‘Cobra’, it escorts us out of the album – and heralds a fearless new era for Megan Thee Stallion.”
