In the hilarious clip shared on Wednesday (Dec. 18), Short surprises the SNL cast with Christmas gifts to celebrate the holiday season as well as the final episode of the year. However, when they opened the boxes, they were empty.
That’s when Short revealed that the “something special” he got them is a “job wrapping all my presents for all my famous friends.”
Among those gifts were a How to Develop a Personality book for Colin Jost, a baby rattle for Al Pacino, and an “SPF infinity” suntan lotion for his Only Murders in the Building co-star and longtime friend Steve Martin, because “let’s face it, Steve is whiter than a Coldplay meet-and-greet.”
When the cast members close in on Short to wish him a Merry Christmas and hug him, the comedian snaps. “Back off! Don’t touch me,” he shouts at them. “It’s Merry Christmas from a distance.”
Hozier is set to take the stage as musical guest during the Short-hosted episode, which airs few weeks after the Dec. 6 release of the Irish superstar’s Unreal Unearth: Unending, an expanded version of his 2023 album.
