After announcing her long-awaited new album, Here for It All, earlier this week, Mariah Carey has dropped a fresh single, “Sugar Sweet,” featuring Shenseea and Kehlani.
The dancehall-tinged tune boasts skittering drums, sultry synths, and enticing verses from all three vocalists. “Hate it when you have to leave/But I don’t say a thing/Cause I will absolutely get the ring,” Carey coos before delivering the song’s hook, “I’ma keep it nice, nice, nеat, neat, sugar, sugar, sweet, sweet.”
“Sugar Sweet” is the second song Carey has shared from Here for It All, following “Type Dangerous,” which dropped back in June. That track also arrived with a music video that included cameos from Marlon Lundgren Garcia and MrBeast. And earlier this month, Carey dropped a full “Type Dangerous” remix EP featuring contributions from Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Luísa Sonza.

Carey finally announced Here for It All on Monday after teasing the record for months. Her short announcement video for the album also appeared to feature a snippet of the title track. Here for It All is set to arrive on Sept. 26. It marks Carey’s 16th album and first since 2018’s Caution. She’s yet to share a full track list for the record or confirm any additional features.
In the seven years since releasing Caution, Carey hasn’t released much new solo music, though she has dropped anniversary reissues of several classic albums (including The Emancipation of Mimi, Music Box, Butterfly, and Rainbow), the 2020 compilation The Rarities, and plenty of Christmas music. She’s also guested on remixes of songs by Ariana Grande and Latto.
