Maren Morris Sends Her Suitors Packing on Single ‘Bed No Breakfast’

The light-hearted song will appear on the country singer’s forthcoming LP, Dreamsicle

Maren Morris has dropped a new single, “Bed No Breakfast,” off her forthcoming LP, Dreamsicle. The tongue-in-check song sees Morris kicking someone out of bed after an intimate act.

“’Bed No Breakfast’ is my cheeky little song about wanting personal space after… personal closeness,” Morris explained in a statement. “It’s about a right to your own comforts on your own terms even while having some good-natured fun with somebody. Drunk girls don’t cry… they kick you out.”

“Bed No Breakfast” is the second track (after “Carry Me Through”) that Morris has released off Dreamsicle, out May 9 via Columbia Records. The LP is her fourth full-length album and her first since 2022’s Humble Quest. It will feature all five songs from her 2024 EP Intermission.

“It represents a lot of influences, a lot of leaps of faith — just true artistic freedom, which is what I’ve always wanted, and I’ve had, but not in this way, where it’s dovetailing with my personal life freedom,” Morris told Elle about the album in December 2024. “I’ve gotten to wear many hats in my career, but with my own personal project upcoming, there are no training wheels. I’m being my truest, most secure self. I think the album reflects [my experience of] becoming a mom in the last few years, changing the way I do business post-pandemic, and then also understanding why I needed to let go of some comforts to grow into the person that I needed to be.”

Last weekend, Morris joined Zedd onstage at Coachella alongside John Mayer, Elley Duhé, and Bea Miller. She wowed the crowd with a rendition of “The Middle.” She also joined Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a rendition of “My Church,” backed by a gospel choir, and headlined a White Claw event in Palm Springs, performing all of her hits at the Saguaro Palm Springs.
