Måneskin’s Damiano David announces solo project ‘Everywhere’

Måneskin vocalist Damiano David has shared details of a new solo project, ‘Everywhere’.

The singer took to social media last night (September 9) to share a cryptic teaser for fans, suggesting that a new announcement is on the way.

In the brief clip shared on his Instagram account, David is seen kitted out in a full suit, walking towards a private car in some pretty miserable weather. Upon getting into the car, the driver asks him where he is looking to go, to which he gives the ambiguous answer: “Everywhere”.

The post also reveals to fans that the announcement will be coming on September 27. Check it out below.

While it isn’t yet clear if the title ‘Everywhere’ alludes to a new single, album or even a new band for the vocalist, it does look likely that this will be a solo endeavour for David rather than anything with Måneskin.

This is because the video only features the frontman and doesn’t make a nod to any other members. Also, the clip has only been shared by David and has been cleared of any mention of the band.

Last year, David opened up about the prospect of going solo, and said that he could imagine it being both “a very healthy thing and a very destructive thing”.

“If I ever have the chance to do a solo project, I have to keep in my mind that it’s thanks to everything I did with the band. That’s my foundation. That’s where I come from. That’s where I developed as an artist,” he said. “And most of everything, it’s three people that always supported me and always literally had my back on stage supporting me. And I always had this shield of my band, my musicians. If I fuck up, they’re gonna save me. If they fuck up, I’m gonna save them.

If the new announcement does turn out to be something relating to a solo project, it wouldn’t make David the first to launch his own career and distance himself from Måneskin. Just last week, bassist Victoria De Angelis teamed up with Anitta and shared her new debut techno track ‘GET UP BITCH! (Shake Ya Ass)’.

As for David, more information about ‘Everywhere’ is set to arrive later this month. There is also a chance that he may share further details tomorrow (September 11), as he will be one of the presenters of the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.

Taking place at New York’s UBS Arena, it’ll mark his third year in a row at the VMAs – having made a heavily-censored debut in 2022 and performing again last year.

Måneskin’s last full-length release was 2023’s ‘Rush‘. In a three-star review of the album, NME shared: “To have navigated such a whirlwind period and arrived here, not just in one piece but thriving, is an astonishing accomplishment. A world tour will soon commence, including dates at arenas across Europe, where these songs will fight hard for space next to Måneskin’s customary cover renditions – there’s a good chance that some of them might win out.”

More recently, the Eurovision winners performed at this year’s edition of Mad Cool Festival. In a review of their live performance, NME said: “Charging through the setlist like a well oiled machine – and doing so with their distinct brand of authenticity – Måneskin are at the very top of their game; it’s no wonder they make headline slots seem like a walk in the park.”
