Maná Plot ‘Vivir Sin Aire’ North American Tour

Maná, one of Latin rock’s most decorated bands, have announced a North American tour kicking off on Sept. 5 with two shows at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Across more than 30 dates, Maná’s Vivir Sin Aire Tour will visit a total of 21 cities including a residency in at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum that will break the record for most arena shows performed in L.A. history. The band will perform a total of 44 concerts, usurping Bruce Springsteen’s record of 42, according to a press release. Ticket sales begin on Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m. local time via the band’s official website.

This year, Maná became the first Spanish-language act to be nominated to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Their latest tour is named after their 1992 hit. The run will take them to Nashville, St. Louis, Baltimore, Montreal, and Detroit for the first time. A portion of ticket sales will help establish Maná’s Latinas Luchonas program, which, in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, seeks to empower Latina entrepreneurs with scholarships, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. The program was created in honor of Rosario Sierra, the late mother of vocalist Fher Olvera.

Maná have sold more than 40 million records and earned a combined 12 Grammy and Latin Grammys. On the band solely performing in Spanish, Olvera told Rolling Stone, “We’ve always wanted to keep our music to the language we know and love. I know there are still a lot of stories to tell as Latinos in this globalized, English-focused world.”
