Madonna announces ‘Bedtime Stories’ 30th anniversary EP with early demos and rarities

Madonna has announced the release of a special ‘Bedtime Stories’ 30th anniversary EP with early demos and rarities.

The EP will be released on November 28 (pre-order here) while the original ‘Bedtime Stories’ will also be released on limited-edition silver vinyl.

Originally released in 1994, Madonna’s sixth studio album went on to sell over seven million copies worldwide and featured hits including ‘Take a Bow’, ‘Secret,’ and ‘Human Nature.’ On the album, she infused elements of R&B and dub with her classic brand of pop and enlisted the likes of Björk, Babyface and more for production work.

At eight-tracks long, the EP include early demos, alternate versions, and rarities that “trace the evolution of ‘Bedtime Stories’ R&B-influenced sound,” according to a statement.

‘Bedtime Stories – The Untold Chapter’ will be released on limited black vinyl and digitally. A deluxe 2CD edition will also be available, featuring the original ‘Bedtime Stories’ album and the new EP, along with a 20-page booklet of lyrics and illustrations. The artwork for the EP features never-before-seen images from a 1994 shoot by Paolo Roversi, whose photos were also used for the Bedtime Story single.

The statement about the release also revealed that Madonna collaborated with her ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’ producer Stuart Price to shape this EP, editing and mixing versions into a cohesive new chapter.

It was first announced back in February that Madonna was planning to re-release ‘Bedtime Stories’ in time for its anniversary. The Queen of Pop took to social media earlier in the year to reveal the news, and shared a trailer to accompany the re-release.

Last month, Madonna also announced her return to Warner Records with a new dance album, ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor Part 2’, scheduled for 2026. It comes almost two decades after the pop icon departed the label, with which she was signed for the first 25 years of her career.

“From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again and in fact that couldn’t have been truer,” she said of her return.

“Since the beginning Warner Records has been a real partner with me,” Madonna continued. “I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”

Madonna first teased a part two to the seminal dance album back in February, telling followers: “My Valentine’s Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can’t wait to share it with you!! 🤍. Confessions Part 2.”

The new album will see her reunite with the producer of the original ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor’, Stuart Price, whom she already revealed she had been working with back in December.

She’s been working with the hit producer for over two decades now, with him most widely recognised for his contributions to the hit 2005 album. Since then, he has gone on to work with her on three of her tours, and recently reconnected with her last year as part of her acclaimed ‘Celebration’ shows.

Tom Carson and Aaron Bay-Schuck, co-chairmen of Warner Records, said that they’re “honoured” to welcome Madonna “back home” to the label. “This signing represents a historic, full-circle moment, one that brings her back to the label where it all began and reaffirms her unparalleled influence, setting the stage for an exciting new era of creativity and impact,” they said.

It will mark her first LP since 2019’s ‘Madame X‘, which was her 14th studio record.
