Luke Combs Becomes First Solo Country Act to Headline Wembley Stadium

Luke Combs has made history, becoming the first solo country artist to headline London’s 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium.

The Guinness World Records has confirmed that Combs is the first solo country act to achieve the feat following his three shows at the venue over the weekend (July 29, Aug. 1-2). The performances concluded the 23-date run for his My Kinda Saturday Night set, which kicked off in Paradise, Nev., in March and included shows across North America and Europe.

Alongside the Wembley Stadium stand, Combs also headlined two nights at Ireland’s Slane Castle, and a further two at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium in the past fortnight.

In their certification, the Guinness World Records references a number of other country acts to have performed at the stadium. Taylor Swift headlined eight shows at Wembley Stadium in 2025, but the Guinness World Records noted that though her “record-breaking The Eras Tour featured music from her country era,” that Swift “has long been considered a pop (and briefly folk) artist.”

The brand also highlights that country legend Vince Gill joined Eagles at the band’s Wembley Stadium show in June 2019, stepping in for the late Glenn Frey, who died in 2016. A number of country acts have performed at the adjacent 12,500-capacity Wembley Arena (currently named the OVO Arena Wembley) over the years, with Kenny Rogers, Clint Black, Kane Brown and Jordan Davis among them.

Combs has earned a number of U.K. chart hits in recent years, including three albums inside the top 10 of the Official Albums Chart: Growin’ Up (No. 9, 2022), Gettin’ Old (No. 5, 2023) and The Way I Am (No. 4, 2026).

He’s not the only country artist to reach new heights on the U.K.’s live music scene in 2026, however. In July, Zach Bryan headlined London’s BST Hyde Park for two nights, and in March, the popular C2C Festival headed to The O2 in London.
