Boygenius member’s latest solo album, Forever Is A Feeling, will be out later this month
Ahead of releasing Forever Is A Feeling, Lucy Dacus wants to keep the conversation going with her grungey new song, “Talk.” The Boygenius member’s new solo album will be out on March 28th.
On “Talk,” Dacus brings back some of the fuzzy, guitar-driven heaviness notable in past tracks like “Night Shift.” She’s full of bittersweet nostalgia, asking, “Why can’t we talk anymore?/We used to talk for hours” in the chorus. She unpacks the relationship further on the bridge, posing more questions to her former lover: “Why was our best sex in hotels/and our worst fights in their stairwells?”

“Talk” is the fourth song released from Dacus’ new album. Lead single “Ankles” recently became her first Top 10 radio hit as a solo artist. Dacus unveiled the full track list earlier this week, including a collaboration with Hozier. She’s currently wrapping a run of intimate shows for fans ahead of the album release and will be kicking off a full and more expansive run of headlining dates in April. She’ll be in North America for the first two months before spending her summer in the UK and Europe. Jasmine.4.t. and Muna’s Katie Gavin will open for Dacus on select dates.
Forever Is A Feeling follows the 2021 release of Dacus’ most recent studio album, Home Video. “The moments where I have felt in ‘forever,’ in the way you feel in love, ring on in my life, and have changed me,” the musician recently told Rolling Stone about the meaning of the title. “So they have an effect, even though that exact moment couldn’t last forever. In between her solo releases, her supergroup Boygenius (comprised of Dacus, Phoebe Bridgers, and Julien Baker) dropped their Grammy-winning album The Record.
