The best children’s album Grammy went to Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band’s Brillo, Brillo! at the Recording Academy’s 2025 awards ceremony on Sunday (Feb. 2).
They’ve previously been honored with two awards at the Latin Grammy Awards, but it’s the band’s first win at the Grammy Awards, the Grammys ceremony that encompasses a wider range of genres. Sunday’s win at the 2025 Grammys comes after accumulating a total of three nominations in the best children’s music album category throughout their career. (Of their latest nomination, in November they told Billboard Family, “This is an honor we don’t take lightly, even though children’s music is full of silly joy and delight!”)
Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band’s win for Brillo, Brillo! was announced along with a number of other awards during the 67th annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony on Sunday, which aired online ahead of the televised part of the 2025 Grammys. The Premiere Ceremony streamed on the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel and on live.GRAMMY.com, while CBS will broadcast its portion of the show from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
“Our record represents us and this time of great division,” said Lucky Diaz, who creates music with Alisha Gaddis, his wife, in their acceptance speech. “We must come together, and this is what music is really at the core of — this city is built on dreams, dreamers and immigrants.”
Diaz shared that the night of Feb. 2 was particularly special when he added, “My beautiful wife and partner for 16 years — this is our anniversary.”
They gave a shoutout to “all the beautiful people that make music for children. It’s such an important vocation and craft.”
Among the talented musicians in the family music space are fellow 2025 best children’s album nominees Divinity Roxx and Divi Roxx Kids (World Wide Playdate), Lucy Kalantari & The Jazz Cats (Creciendo), John Legend (My Favorite Dream) and Rock for Children (Solid Rock Revival).
