The 100 Club in London is set to host two shows from Sprints, Maruja and more, celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of their most iconic punk gigs. To mark the landmark moment, they will be pricing tickets at just £1.50 – the same as what they were in 1976.
The 1976 shows were held on September 20 and 21, and featured performances from Sex Pistols, The Clash, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Damned, Buzzcocks Subway Sect, Chris Spedding & The Vibrators and Stinky Toys from Paris – most of which were unsigned at the time.
In the audience were big names including Paul Weller, Shane MacGowan, Viv Albertine, and Vivienne Westwood, and the gig soon became one of the most storied punk gigs of all time.
Now, to mark the 50th anniversary of that gig, The 100 Club is hosting two more shows on the same dates. The shows celebrate not only what punk was back in the ‘70s, but how the genre looks today.
Night one (September 20) will see Irish trailblazers Sprints take to the stage, following their two acclaimed studio albums, 2024’s debut ‘Letter To Self’ and 2025’s ‘All That Is Over’. The show will mark one of the smallest venues they have played in a long time.
Night two (September 21) will see Maruja headline, having dropped their debut album ‘Pain To Power’ last year and becoming a defining force in today’s UK punk scene.
“We are absolutely honoured to be involved in commemorating one of the most important events in the punk movement,” the band shared. “To play at the legendary 100 Club all these years later with the energy of the history in the room, it’s gonna be a really special night.”
In keeping with the spirit of the 1970s punk scene, tickets for the upcoming shows will be the same price that they were back in 1976 – costing just £1.50 each. The gigs are supported by Marshall and George Cox, and special guests for both dates will be shared soon.
“In my personal opinion, Punk is THE most important genre and subculture that the UK, or anyone else has ever produced or invented,” said Jeff Horton Owner of The 100 Club. “And its longevity is testament to that. The list of good it’s done is endless. When you consider the background of despair, racism, poverty and sexism it grew from, its carried the flag for and supported people that need it continuously.”
He continued: “And that is why we have chosen the line up we have, on 20th and 21st September 2026 to celebrate 50 years of this incredible subculture and genre. Call it what you like, its distinct values, style, incredible music, fashion and ethos set it apart from mainstream culture. And these bands perfectly reflect what Punk means in 2026.”

Since dropping their latest album last year, Sprints have shared more music in 2026, including the single ‘Trickle Down’, which sees them channel “the frustration of a generation stuck in ‘wait mode’ while everything burns”.
As for Maruja, the Manchester jazz-punks and former NME Cover stars were given a glowing four-star review for their ‘Pain To Power’ album, with NME describing it as filled with “cathartic outpourings of fury, despair and love”, and later listing it on our top debut albums of 2025.
