London BST Hyde Park Pitbull show to attempt to break Guinness World Record for most people wearing bald caps

BST Hyde Park has announced that it will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for most people wearing bald caps at the upcoming Pitbull show this summer.

The singer and producer – also known as Mr Worldwide – will be one of the artists headlining the 2026 edition of the London summer series, set to take to the stage on Friday July 10.

News of the gig was announced in October, and it was also revealed that Kesha would be joining Pitbull as a special guest. More artists joining the bill are expected to be confirmed soon.

Now, organisers of the American Express presents BST Hyde Park have revealed that the event will host an official Guinness World Records title attempt on the night, looking to earn the title of the Largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.

The idea was first suggested by Radio 1 Breakfast host Greg James on air, and caught the eye of Pitbull, who sent a text to the host saying that he was eager to get involved. The stint comes following the viral trend that has been happening at Pitbull’s shows over the past year, in which fans – calling themselves ‘The Bald E’s’ – have been showing up to his shows wearing bald caps, aviators and leather jackets, replicating his distinctive image.

“Guinness Book of World Records, get ready for all the Bald-E’s that’ll be putting it down on July 10 at Hyde Park,” Pitbull said in a new statement.

“Every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives. We appreciate the love, the commitment, and the support. More than anything, we just want to say thank you.”

One of the biggest crowds to wear bald caps at Pitbull’s shows was at his sold-out shows at The O2 in London last year. Footage of the audiences soon went viral, and led to fans at other tour dates doing the same.

The shows were as part of the European leg of his ‘Party After Dark Tour’, where he was joined by Lil Jon. On stage at The O2, he addressed the crowd and thanked them for getting dressed up for the event.

“Now I wanna say a special thank you to everybody who came out with bald caps here tonight,” he said at the time. “It’s amazing to see, and it’s amazing to feel.”

For the official world record to count, the rules stipulate that “all participants must wear bald caps secured firmly on the head, with hair tucked under at the front and top (hair may hang from the back),” and “all participants must be gathered together and in position simultaneously and remain so for a minimum of one minute.”

“We’re so excited to host a [Mr] world [wide] record attempt at Pitbull’s show in BST Hyde Park – The highest number of people wearing baldcaps,” said Darcey Jackson, Director of Talent at AEG Presents European Festivals. “We’ve broken a few world records in the past but this will really truly be the time of our lives . We cannot wait to welcome you all to Hyde Park for what will inevitably be an incredible show. Come one, come all, come bald.”

Will Munford, adjudicator at Guinness World Records added, “We look forward to adjudicating this record at BST Hyde Park with Pitbull. What better way to be part of something amazing than coming together with other fans to celebrate your favourite artist. Best of luck to all of those taking part on the day!”

When Pitbull was confirmed for BST Hyde Park, he was also announced as part of the line-up for the new Roundhay Festival in Leeds. Both will also be headlined by Lewis Capaldi next summer as part of his UK and Ireland headline tour.

Others for BST Hyde part include Garth Brooks (June 27), Maroon 5 (July 3), and Mumford & Sons (July 4). More artists will be confirmed soon. Visit here for tickets to Pitbull’s show.
