Lizzo celebrates reaching “weight release” goal: “You can do anything you put your mind to”

Lizzo has celebrated reaching her “weight release” goal, telling her followers: “Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to.”

The ‘Good As Hell’ singer posted a pair of selfies on her Instagram account on Saturday (January 25), alongside statistics on her decreases in BMI and body fat percentage.

“I did it,” she wrote. “Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”

In a separate Instagram post, she added: “I’m not going to be considered thin by any means. I will still be considered morbidly obese on the BMI and little bros on the internet are still gonna call me ‘big-backed.’ But I will be happy. And I am happy! I did it.”

In recent months, Lizzo has responded to jokes and comments about her alleged use of the weight-loss drug Ozempic, including from NFL star Antonio Brown.

Back in September, Lizzo responded to the allegations, singling out a comment on one of her posts that read: “Did she use Ozempic or did she snort coke?”. Lizzo responded: “When you finally get ozempic allegations after five months of weight training and calorie deficit”.

At Halloween, she took the chance to once again poke fun at the Ozempic allegations, by dressing as a glam version of the diet-suppressing drug, in reference to a 2024 South Park skit.

The comedy show’s episode ‘The End Of Obesity’ included a spoof sketch where Eric Cartman can’t afford the drug, so his doctor prescribes him ‘Lizzo’, to train him in body positivity so he can stop worrying about his weight.

“I want you to listen to Lizzo five times a day, and watch her videos just before bedtime,” the doctor says. “I’m afraid you’ll have to be on Lizzo for the rest of your life.”

Elsewhere, Lizzo recently broke her silence on the sexual harassment lawsuit that was filed against her in 2023 by three former dancers, saying she “did nothing wrong”.
