Jeon Somi has released her new EP, ‘Chaotic & Confused’ – check it out below.
Yesterday (August 11), the South Korean-Canadian singer unleashed her second mini-album, marking her first collection of music since 2023’s ‘Game Plan’.
The EP consists five tracks: ‘Escapade’, ‘Extra’, ‘Chaotic & Confused’, ‘Closer’ and ‘Delu’.
Jeon Somi has also released a music video for ‘Closer’, which interpolates the vocal melody from Sean Kingston’s ‘Beautiful Girls’, albeit with reworked lyrics and a hypnotic dance beat.
“Call me your beautiful girl / And I’ma let this body work / ‘Cause when it’s you and I, oh, you and I / I’ma need you closer / When I’m lookin’ in your eyes / I forget about the time / Oh, when we start to sway / It’s like I’m losing my mind / And I never thought / That we would end up with each other,” she sings in the opening verse.

Last month, she released the music video for ‘Extra’ off the same EP. Prior to that, she last released the one-off single ‘Ice Cream’ in 2024.
The ‘Chaotic & Confused’ mini-album follows her 2023 EP ‘Game Plan’, which featured the hit single ‘Fast Forward’. While the song was a commercial success, it sparked controversy as a part of the music video has since been edited after viewers accused it of plagiarism.
Prior to that, she dropped her debut studio album ‘XOXO’ in October 2021.
Somi’s first appearance in the music industry had been on the 2015 survival programme Sixteen, where she competed alongside 15 other JYP Entertainment trainees to form what would later become TWICE. She signed with THEBLACKLABEL and launched her solo career in 2018.
