Listen to Hinds’ dreamy indie cover of Charli XCX’s ‘Girl, So Confusing’: “Everything about this song resonates with us”

Hinds have shared a dreamy indie cover of Charli XCX’s ‘Girl, So Confusing’ – check it out below.

The Madrid-based indie duo – made up of Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote – released
their fourth album ‘Viva Hinds’ last year. Now, to mark its first anniversary, the band have shared their take on Charli and Lorde’s ‘Girl, so confusing’.

The cover has become a fan favourite at their live gigs, and arrives ahead of an upcoming tour across the US and Spain. You can check out the full list of tour dates below, and find tickets for the US dates here.

Speaking about their take on the ‘Brat’ track, Hinds explained: “Everything about this song resonates with us. We have been a girl band for four albums now, more than a decade.

“A decade in a world that tries to put girls against each other, comparing everything, our bodies, our songs, our way of talking and existing. Making it almost impossible to not feel threatened and constantly insecure.”

They concluded: “When this song and the feature with Lorde was released, it made history for music and for women. This is our take on it.”

Hinds’ 2025-2026 tour dates are:

SEPTEMBER 2025
24 – Brooklyn, NY, USA — Elsewhere
26 – Dana Point, CA, USA — Ohana Festival
27 – Chicago, IL, USA – Goose Island Block Party

OCTOBER 2025
11 — Budapest, Hungary — Isolation Festival

JANUARY 2026
16 – A Coruña, Spain — Garufa Club
17 – Vigo, Spain — Mondo Club Vigo
23 – Barcelona, Spain — Apolo
30 – Granada, Spain — Planta Baja
31 – Sevilla, Spain — Sala X

FEBRUARY 2026
05 – Madrid, Spain — Sala Riviera
12 – 2026 — Valencia, Spain — Moon

Hinds’ comments about the impact of the track echo those made by Charli and Lorde’s peers following the two sharing the confessional song, with Marina saying it was “so courageous and human to make work about this topic and it’s so healing to listen to it”.

Charli previously opened up about her tricky relationship with Lorde, admitting to being “super jealous” of her success when she was younger: “She was into my music. She had big hair; I had big hair. She wore black lipstick; I once wore black lipstick. You create these parallels and think, ‘Well, that could have been me.’ But it couldn’t have because we’re completely different people.”

Many interpreted Lorde’s confessional verse as a deeply resonant look into the complications of female friendships, while some were moved by the ‘Melodrama’ artist singing openly about living with anorexia.

‘Viva Hinds’ featured the singles ‘Boom Boom Back’ featuring Beck, ‘The Bed, The Room, The Rain and You’ and their first ever Spanish single, ‘En Forma’.

They also teamed up with Fontaines D.C.‘s Grian Chatten on ‘Stranger’.
