Listen to Gracie Abrams’ poignant live recording of unreleased song ‘Death Wish’

Gracie Abrams has released a new live recording of an unreleased track, ‘Death Wish’ – check it out below.

Last month (March 6), Abrams took over the O2 Arena in London, where she debuted an unreleased track, ‘Death Wish’. The track was written about a friend’s experience “dating a mega-narcissist”.

Yesterday night (April 1), Abrams released the recording of the O2 Arena performance, which marks the only time she’s played the track thus far. You can listen to the song below, which has been accompanied by live footage of the performance as well as its lyrics.

How will it end? How long will you give me? / ‘Til you twist the knife with a smile while you kill me,” Abrams croons. “And you ask me to dance if there’s someone around / You don’t look the same when I look at you now.”

It is unclear when the official studio version of ‘Death Wish’ will be made available, but it marks the singer’s first release since Gracie Abrams 2024 album ‘The Secret Of Us’. Prior to the live recording’s release, she featured on Selena Gomez’s and Benny Blanco’s ‘Call Me When You Break Up’ in February.

Tomorrow (April 3), Gracie Abrams is due to kick off an Asia tour in support of ‘The Secret Of Us’, which includes her debut shows in Singapore, Thailand and more – see the full list of dates and ticketing information here.

Abrams’ ‘The Secret Of Us’ scored a four-star review from NME upon its release last June: “It’s a moment of pure pop catharsis that leans into the good, bad and messy of infatuation. This is the joy of ‘The Secret of Us’: it doesn’t shy away from the complex or contradictory. Here Gracie Abrams embraces her growing pains and celebrates enduring the difficult moments. She’s never sounded better.”
