Fall Out Boy have released a spirited version of ‘It Feels Like Christmas’ from The Muppet Christmas Carol – listen below.
With the festive season on the horizon, the band have recorded a cover of the beloved song from the classic 1992 film for the Spotify Singles series and it is available to listen to via the streaming service now.
Announcing the track on Instagram last week, Fall Out Boy said: “Muppet’s Christmas Carol is possibly the greatest adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story. We always loved the music and we had a blast getting to put our stamp on a version of it.”
The song was written by the legendary Paul Williams and in the film, it is sung by the Ghost of Christmas Present before being later reprised during the film’s triumphant climactic sequence, with Michael Caine joining the chorus as Ebenezer Scrooge.

It is not the first time the Illinois band have recorded a Christmas song – in 2003, their original song ‘Yule Shoot Your Eye Out’ was released on the compilation album ‘A Santa Cause: It’s A Punk Rock Christmas’. Listen to that track here:
There have already been some other festive offerings from the alternative music world this year – last week, Poppy shared her cover of Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’, as produced by former Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish.
The Futureheads will also be releasing their first ever holidays-themed album on November 21. ‘Christmas’ will be comprised largely of reinterpretations of yuletide classics, as well as two original compositions.
As for Fall Out Boy, singer Patrick Stump recently returned to his hardcore roots with an appearance during Weekend Nachos’ show in Seattle last month, and contributed vocals to Motion City Soundtrack’s ‘Particle Physics’ from their new album ‘The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World’.
The 20th anniversary of Fall Out Boy’s ‘From Under The Cork Tree’ was also released last week (October 17).
