Listen to Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Blind Spot’ from unheard ‘Streets Of Philadelphia Sessions’

Bruce Springsteen has shared a previously unheard single called ‘Blind Spot’. Check it out below.

The new single comes as the iconic singer, songwriter and guitarist is gearing up to release seven never-heard-before full records on ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’. Arriving on June 27, the collection will comprise 83 songs and is set to “fill in rich chapters of Springsteen’s expansive career timeline — while offering invaluable insight into his life and work as an artist.”

Today (April 17), The Boss has shared a new teaser of the forthcoming albums in the form of a newly-shared single called ‘Blind Spot’.

It features on his currently unheard ‘Streets Of Philadelphia Sessions’ as the opening track, and tackles themes of betrayal and heartbreak within a relationship.

“That was just the theme that I locked in on at that moment,” Springsteen said in a new statement. “I don’t really know why. Patti and I, we were having a great time in California. But sometimes if you lock into one song you like, then you follow that thread. I had ‘Blind Spot,’ and I followed that thread through the rest of the record.”

Although it was fully completed, mixed and set to arrive in spring 1995, ‘Streets of Philadelphia Sessions’ album was put on ice as the singer reunited with The E Street Band for the first time in seven years.

“I said, ‘Well, maybe it’s time to just do something with the band, or remind the fans of the band or that part of my work life,’” he added. “So that’s where we went. But I always really liked ‘Streets of Philadelphia Sessions’…during the Broadway show, I thought of putting it out [as a standalone release]. I always put them away, but I don’t throw them away”.

In another statement shared earlier this month, the ‘Born In The USA’ singer revealed that all seven of ‘The Lost Albums’ were full records when they were put aside. “I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them,” he said.

One of the collections is described as “lo-fi exploration of ‘LA Garage Sessions ’83’” that “serves as a crucial link between ‘Nebraska’” and ‘Born in the USA.’”

The collection also includes a soundtrack – via ‘Faithless’ – for a movie that was never made, along with a country-themed collection titled ‘Somewhere North Of Nashville’. Others, the press statement adds, include “orchestra-driven, mid-century noir on ‘Twilight Hours’.”

One more of the lost albums is called ‘Perfect World’ and was introduced earlier this month with a new track called ‘Rain In The River’. Tune in to that below.

The collection will arrive via limited-edition nine LP, seven CD and digital formats. It also includes distinctive packaging for each previously unreleased record, and a 100-page cloth-bound, hardcover book featuring rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album from essayist Erik Flannigan and a personal introduction on the project from Springsteen himself.

On top of that, there is also a companion set called ‘Lost And Found: Selections From The Lost Albums’ that will feature 20 highlights from across the collection. Find the full list of albums and their tracklists here and visit here to pre-order.

In other Bruce Springsteen news, it was recently shared that the BBC have unveiled plans to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the legendary artist’s first UK concert with a series of programmes.
