The London band began teasing their next era last month when they changed their official logo on social media, and shared lyrics and an instrumental from what appeared to be an upcoming track.

Ellie Rowsell and co. later dropped a playlist of influences for their new material, and uploaded some fresh press photos online.

Now, Wolf Alice have confirmed that their comeback single ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ will arrive at 6:30pm BST on Thursday May 15. They shared the song’s official cover artwork – in which the group sport a new look – and another, longer snippet.

Wolf Alice also promised “a little treat” for fans who pre-save the track – which users on Reddit have confirmed to be the sheet music for ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ (see below).

The forthcoming single includes the previously revealed line “Every flower needs to neighbour with the dirt“. Other lyrics read: “Do I have to make you, sit on your hands/ Fucking baby, baby man/ Do you want me to show you, who I am/ See this fire in my eyes boy/ That’s your flash in the pan.”

‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ marks Wolf Alice’s first material since their 2021 third studio album, ‘Blue Weekend’. The critically-acclaimed record went to Number One in the UK, and was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize.

Speculation about new music from Wolf Alice began when they were confirmed as part of the line-up for Glastonbury 2025 in March. They have since been announced for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool this month.

Wolf Alice haven’t played a full live show together since late 2022.

In early 2024, the band signed with major label Columbia Records after completing their three-album deal with the independent Dirty Hit.

Wolf Alice scored numerous NME Award nominations in 2022, including Best Album By A UK Artist and Best Album In The World for ‘Blue Weekend’. They won the Best Festival Headliner prize that year.

NME gave ‘Blue Weekend’ a glowing five-star review, hailing it as “a masterpiece full of confidence and magic”. The collection also landed at Number Three on NME‘s 50 best albums of 2021 list.
