“I’m just trying to manifest it now” said the artist
Lily Allen wants to drop new music in 2025. In a new interview Thursday, the musician shared that she was “trying to manifest” the release of her first album since 2018’s No Shame.
“Firstly, I’m going to go and get my head straight for a bit,” she said on her Miss Me? podcast with Miquita Oliver. “I’m doing a little bit of work on myself in this beginning period of the year, then I’m going to do some more writing, then I’m going to do my play, hopefully, maybe get an album out by the end of the year.”
“That would be nice, wouldn’t it?” she added. “It’s not real, I’m just trying to manifest it now.”
Last year, Allen joined Olivia Rodrigo onstage during her Guts World Tour for a duet of her song “Smile.” At the time, Rodrigo said onstage, “I think she’s the most clever songwriter. And the coolest girl in London.”
Allen also revealed around that time that performing “Fuck You” at Glastonbury 2023 with Rodrigo inspired her to get back into the studio to record new music. “It sparked something in me. It is quite fun,” she said on the Jonathan Ross Show.
While Allen hasn’t released much music of her own since No Shame, she joined BENEE and Flo Milli on single “Plain” from the Kiwi star’s Hey u x album. She also sang with Shy FX and Stamina MC on “Roll the Dice” that same year.
Back in October, Allen also had an X post go viral after she defended her decision to sell feet photos on OnlyFans: “Imagine being an artist and having nearly 8 million monthly listeners on spotify but earning more money from having 1000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet. don’t hate the player, hate the game,” she wrote.
