Lil Uzi Vert was reportedly hospitalised in New York City earlier this week, after falling ill at a hotel.
The Philadelphia rapper and singer was transported in an ambulance to a local hospital for treatment on Monday (April 21), according to TMZ.
The outlet reported that paramedics had responded to a call about a “sick person” in Lower Manhattan.
Vert – real name Symere Bysil Woods – was seen being wheeled into an ambulance at approximately 2:30pm local time. The 29-year-old was said to be accompanied by his girlfriend – City Girls rapper JT – and the artist’s security team.
Further details about Woods’ condition are not yet known.
Sources said that the rapper – who identifies as nonbinary – was conscious when they were brought out of the hotel. It has also been reported that Woods was admitted to the emergency room and kept there overnight.
They were said to be still in hospital as of Tuesday morning (April 22). It is unclear if they have been discharged yet, at the time of writing.
Lil Uzi Vert released his fourth studio album, ‘Eternal Atake 2’, last November. They recently teamed up with Playboi Carti once again on the latter’s new record ‘Music’. Vert contributed to the songs ‘Jumpin’ and ‘Twin Trim’ – the pair’s first collaborations in seven years.
In 2023, the artist said they would soon be retiring from music to focus on making women’s clothing.
This month saw Lil Uzi Vert drop a deluxe version of ‘Eternal Atake’ and a fifth anniversary edition of ‘Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World 2’ for Record Store Day 2025.
