Lil Nas X Breaks Silence on Arrest and Felony Charges: ‘That Was F-cking Terrifying’

The rapper was released from jail after pleading not guilty to four felony charges for allegedly charging at Los Angeles police officers in Los Angeles

Lil Nas X has returned to social media for the first time since he was arrested and charged with four felonies earlier this week. On Monday, the rapper pleaded not guilty after he was accused of charging at Los Angeles police officers while roaming the streets of Studio City in his underwear and a pair of cowboy boots in a disconcerted state over the weekend.

“Your girl is gonna be okay, y’all,” the artist born Montero Lamar Hill said in an Instagram Story post. “Okay? She’s gonna be alright. Shit.” Letting out a tired laugh, he continued: “That was fucking terrifying. That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be alright.”

Hill was arrested after being found early last Friday morning, around 6 a.m. local time. In videos captured by spectators and shared with TMZ, he spoke incoherently to the person behind the camera. The footage showed him in a visibly disheveled state, and, in one clip, he was seen wearing an orange traffic cone on his head.

Prior to his arrest, Hill shared a series of bizarre posts on Instagram, which sparked concern, though some predicted he could be amping up controversy ahead of a new music era. Last week, he shared unreleased music and mirror selfies, plus artwork and piles of miscellaneous objects in what appeared to be his home. The arrest quelled rumors that he was engaging in a marketing stunt.

Police initially transported Hill to a nearby hospital for a possible overdose. He spent several hours there before being taken to jail, where he spent the weekend. According to the police, Hill “charged” at officers when they tried to confront him when they arrived on the scene.

A judge set Hill’s bail for $75,000 and ordered him to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings a week or attend outpatient treatment. He was charged with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed to Rolling Stone.
