Liam Gallagher says he’s “been asked” to appear in next series of ‘The Traitors’

Liam Gallagher has got fans talking after revealing that he has “been asked” to appear in the next series of the hit show, The Celebrity Traitors.

The first season of the BBC One show, which is a spin-off of the regular Traitors series, wrapped up in November and proved a huge hit with viewers, bringing in a reported 11million for the final episode alone.

It featured big names like Cat Burns, Jonathan Ross, Sir Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church, Nick Mohammed, Tom Daley and more.

It was later confirmed as returning for a second season, and those rumoured to be a part of the cast include Cheryl Cole, Jamie Oliver, Alison Hammond and Danny Dyer.

Now, Oasis frontman Gallagher has revealed that he was approached by producers of the show and asked if he’d like to take part.

He shared the update after a fan reached out to him on X/Twitter and sent him a tweet that read: “Liam would you go on the traitors if they asked?”. While he didn’t say whether or not he’d be willing to take part in the show or not, he did respond by saying that he had already been asked that same question by the BBC.

“I’ve been asked”, he wrote in the reply, leading to some debate among fans as to whether or not he would likely say yes to the opportunity.

“Omg you got to do it !!,” one fan wrote, saying that he’d make “a great traitor”, and another chimed in saying: “you would’ve been too good”.

“WELL DO IT what’s holding u back dont be boring,” someone else replied to him, and another fan joked that they’d “absolutely love” to see him take part in the Great British Bake Off instead. Check out fan reactions below.

While fans are already speculating about what famous faces might be appearing in the forthcoming second season, former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby recently revealed that viewers shouldn’t expect to see any reality TV stars, as the BBC has a rule against letting them take part.

“I would love to do [it], but they’ve got a no reality rule. That is a genuine fact,” she told The Sun.

“My agent is on the line and he will confirm. They take no reality stars. A lot of shows have this rule,” she continued, adding that the second that they “break the mould”, she will “be there with my fucking cloak”.

It has not been confirmed exactly when fans can expect to see the second season, although it will likely be at some point in 2026, and will see Claudia Winkleman return to host. Companion show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked will also come back to BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds alongside the new season.

The first season of The Traitors aired in 2022, and it wasn’t until 2025 that a celebrity version hit screens in the UK. The first episode of the spin-off got 14.8million views in 28 days, and became the most-watched single episode of TV that year.

Fans online described the finale as “perhaps the best piece of reality TV in years” and it also became the biggest unscripted show across the entire UK market since 2021.

At the end of last year, a report revealed that the entire Traitors franchise – which is set in and around Ardross Castle in the Highlands – has boosted Scotland’s economy by £21.8million since 2022.

For Liam Gallagher, rumours of him taking part in the series come as Oasis recently announced a “pause” as they reflect on their huge ‘Live ‘25’ reunion tour, which ended in Brazil in November.

It has been suggested a few times now that there could be more gigs on the way, and the frontman recently teased more shows on X, writing: “I know things you don’t know” in response to a fan who asked him if he was sad the tour would be ending soon.

Similarly, at the last Wembley show of their comeback run in September, he told fans “See you next year” before jokingly slapping himself on the wrist.

In October, a British peer seemed to accidentally reveal that Oasis would be playing Knebworth next summer – in what would mark 30 years since the band’s famous shows at the Hertfordshire stately home – before backtracking on her claims.

More recently, he got fans talking again by hinting that new Oasis updates could come earlier than fans expect.
