Lewis Capaldi shares heartfelt new single ‘Something In The Heavens’

Lewis Capaldi has shared his emotional new single ‘Something In The Heavens’. Check it out below.

The new song was written by the Scottish solo star alongside Connor and Riley McDonough, and takes on themes of loss and discovering the glimmer of hope that remains.

Capaldi dropped a teaser for the new track two weeks ago, sharing a video of him in the studio playing a snippet of the audio.

But ’til the day I die, I will dream of you/ In a million lives, you’re the one I choose,” he sings as the song builds up to the chorus: “I’ll love you ’til my last breath/ You’re gone but something in the heavens tells me that we’ll together again.”

The release of the song comes as the ‘Someone You Loved’ singer is currently underway with his 2025 UK live shows, which mark his first tour dates in two years.

‘Something In The Heavens’ arrives on the heels of Capaldi making his comeback in June, when he released his comeback single ‘Survive’ and went on to play a surprise set at the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. ‘Survive’ became his sixth UK Number One single, and the fastest selling single of 2025 so far – surpassing both Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga.

The latest run of live shows come after the singer was forced to cut his set at Glastonbury 2023 short after struggling with tics caused by Tourette’s. He later announced he was planning to take some time off to focus on his health.

Since coming back from his hiatus, he has teamed up with BetterHelp to provide 734,000 hours of free online therapy. Announcing the collaboration, he shared: “Therapy is the reason why I am able to be a musician again”. He would also play some warm up shows in May in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week.

More new music from Capaldi is suspected to be on the way soon, as he has been using his latest run of tour dates to preview some unreleased material with fans. If it materialises into a full album, it will be his first since 2023’s ‘Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent’.

As well as sharing the new single, this week also saw the singer announce a new UK and Ireland tour for 2026, which includes a headline slot at next year’s BST Hyde Park. Visit here for tickets.
