LANY are Soft-launching across the world. Rolling Stone can exclusively announce that LANY will embark on a world tour next year, including an arena run in the United States to celebrate their latest album, Soft.
“We love making records, we live to tour them, and the reaction to Soft has already exceeded our expectations,” Paul and Jake of LANY tell Rolling Stone. “To write an album from such a vulnerable place and see fans around the world immediately connect with it is surreal. Singing LANY songs with thousands of people under the same roof has always been the most fulfilling experience for us.”
“And if the love we’ve seen towards our new album is any indicator of what a show might feel like, this could very well be the most special LANY tour to date,” they add.
LANY’s North American run will start in late March in Phoenix, before heading to cities such as Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Dallas. The group will also play in Mexico City in early May. They then head on the European and U.K. leg of the tour, starting in Oslo, Norway, on May 13, before the trek continues on through early June.
Before the U.S. run, the band will also play Lollapalooza festivals in India, Chile, and Argentina, including a one-off show in Dubai on Jan. 23.
Fans can register for artist presale access, which allows folks to purchase tickets starting Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. local time through Oct. 23 at 10 p.m. local time. General on-sale tickets will go live on Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. local time.
LANY dropped Soft, the duo’s sixth album, last Friday, featuring the single “Know You Naked,” and songs like “Good Parts, “Last Forever,” and “Sound of Rain.” The new album comes after Klein survived a near-fatal car accident last summer.
“I have a very new perspective on life now,” singer Paul Klein told Rolling Stone last October. “It sounds weird to say, but I’ve had the best summer of my entire life, and it’s been mainly spent on a lawn chair right there, reading and slowing down. If I hadn’t been hit by a car, I wouldn’t have had the summer that I had to slow down and process things. I feel like I’m more aware of my surroundings, and maybe not like racing my way through every single moment.”
