Lambrini Girls have shared their intoxicating new single ‘Love’, alongside the announcement of UK in-store shows to launch their upcoming debut album ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’.

The Brighton punk duo – comprising Phoebe Lunny and Lilly Macieira – are set to release the 11-track record on January 10, 2025 via City Slang. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.

Last month, they shared lead single ‘Big Dick Energy’, a thrashing punk track that takes aim at toxic masculinity within modern society.

Now, they’ve provided another taste of the LP with ‘Love’. The high-octane single dissects false love, as they explain in a press statement: “‘Love’ isn’t a critique on real affection—it’s about mistaking toxicity for love. Like a moth drawn to a flame, unable to discern between warmth that soothes and a fire that burns you, and getting pissed off about it.

“It’s an embrace full of sharp edges, a kiss that stings. Poison pretending to be sweet, venom dressed up as nectar. When love is learned through chaos, pain feels like connection,” they continue.”It’s the cycle of chasing affection through suffering and holding on because you’ve never known anything else.

“It’s about the bitterness and resentment from trying to find something, only to realise it remains elusive. What this song conveys isn’t love at all; in fact, it’s very opposite.” You can check it out below.

Alongside ‘Love’, Lambrini Girls have announced a string of in-store shows coinciding with the album launch. The mini-tour will see them head to record stores in Liverpool, Nottingham, Bristol, London, Brighton and Berlin between January 10-16.

The forthcoming ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ was recorded with Gilla Band bassist Daniel Fox, and mixed by Seth Manchester (Mdou Moctar, Battles).

Per a press release, the album “bottles everything wrong with the modern world and shakes it up” while delving into “a laundry list of social ills”.

“You know how Fleetwood Mac almost dedicated ‘Rumours’ to their cocaine dealer?” the group added. “I think we should dedicate this album to all the booze we bought at Tesco.”

Following the release of their album next year, Lambrini Girls will head on a UK and European headline tour. Find any remaining tickets here, and see the UK/Ireland schedule below.

Speaking to NME this summer, Lunny teased their debut studio album at the time, hinting at a “a larger body of work” to come.

“We’ve written some more music, and we’ve been trying out a lot of it live,” Lunny told NME. “There’s been really nice responses to it. So just ultimately cracking the fuck on and smashing it as much as we can until we explode.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Lunny talked about exploring “societal issues” in Lambrini Girls’ music, and their decision to boycott several festivals this year in solidarity with Palestine.
