Lady Gaga Seemingly Teases ‘Mayhem’ Album Lyrics with Mysterious Floating Letters on Her Website

Lady Gaga is giving fans a sneak peek into her upcoming album.

A visit to the 38-year-old pop star and actress’ official website reveals a series of floating black letters against an orange backdrop, which may be lyrics from her forthcoming album, Mayhem, set to drop on March 7.

When users click and drag their cursor across the screen, random clusters of letters appear, followed by sentences that flash briefly before disappearing. One reads, “Choke on the fame and hope it gets your high.” Another says, “I’m the perfect celebrity.” A third declares, “I’ll burn a hole right through your eyes,” and another states, “Tap on my vein suck on my blood diamond.”

Mayhem, Gaga’s seventh studio album, will feature previously released singles like “Abracadabra,” “Disease” and her Grammy Award-winning collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile.” “Disease,” which dropped in October, peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Die With a Smile” spent five weeks at No. 1.

Gaga’s upcoming album also follows Harlequin, a companion project created for the film Joker: Folie à Deux, in which she stars as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. The latter album debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

In December, the A Star Is Born actress shared more about the sound of Mayhem during a conversation with The Los Angeles Times. She described that the project “leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt,” adding, “And it ends with love.” She noted, “That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love. Every song that I wrote, I just kept getting kind of swept away in these different dreams I was having about the past — almost like a recollection of all these bad decisions that I made in my life.”
