The Boygenius star played her downbeat take on Radio 1’s New Music Show with Jack Saunders. She also performed ‘Ankles’ and ‘Best Guess’ from her recent album ‘Forever Is A Feeling‘.

Dacus’ take on the track has earned Gaga’s seal of approval. In the Tiktok comments section, she wrote: “I LOVE this so much,” adding a crying emoji. “wow,” she added. “captures the purity of the song.”

Later, Dacus posted a screenshot of Gaga’s message on X and wrote, “I’m shaking.”

‘Forever Is A Feeling’ was given a four-star review, and described by NME as being an album that sees her “switch spiky indie for grand chamber-pop and deliciously details the rush of a new romance”.

“Though it exudes plenty of joy along the way, ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ doesn’t shy away from the more daunting aspects of being totally obsessed with somebody; ‘This is bliss, this is hell,’ Dacus sings on the title track. ‘Forever is a feeling, and I know it well,’” it read. “Though longing and mortality have long been recurring themes in Dacus’ music, the stakes feel even higher – and even more gripping – when there’s so much to lose.”

Gaga meanwhile, was recently hit with a $100m (£77.4million) lawsuit by a surf company who claimed she ripped off their logo.

She also recently announced a world tour, which will see her make stops across the UK, Europe and North America.

These dates include three nights at The O2 in London – on September 29, 30 and October 2 – as well as a show at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester on October 7.

Tickets go sale this Thursday (April 3). Visit here for UK tickets and here for international tickets.
