“We’re crafting it moment by moment,” she said of her headlining set, choreographed with Parris Goebel
Lady Gaga promised mayhem from Mayhem at Coachella — and she’s ready to deliver. In her interview with Rolling Stone, the pop queen said she was excited to play her Mayhem standout “Killah” during her headlining festival set this Friday.
She shared that “Killah” was specifically “really special” for her. “That was really Gesaffelstein’s baby,” Gaga says. “I’m so in awe of his work on that record. And we had a good time making it together,” she adds. “The bridge just pops off and it’s going to be total mayhem, a good time. I can’t wait to play it at Coachella.”
Gaga refrained from teasing her Coachella set, but shared her excitement to debut a new live spectacle with the performance, working alongside Parris Goebel. “It means so much to me and it’s so special that I want everything to be a surprise. But I will say that we’re crafting it moment by moment,” she said. “I can’t wait to do it… I love singing for people and making people happy.”
Her headlining seton Friday marks her return to the desert after taking over Beyoncé’s slot in 2017 due to Bey’s pregnancy with twins Rumi and Sir Carter. At the time, Gaga was promoting her album Joanne. (Bey would return to the festival in 2018 for her iconic Homecoming performance.)
