Lady Gaga appears to be teasing lyrics from her new album ‘Mayhem’

The pop star has changed the front page of her official website to show a series of floating black letters against an orange backdrop.

When users click and drag their cursor across the screen, random clusters of letters appear, followed by sentences that flash briefly before disappearing.

One reads: “Choke on the fame and hope it gets your high.” Another says: “I’m the perfect celebrity.” A third declares: “I’ll burn a hole right through your eyes,” and another states: “Tap on my vein suck on my blood diamond.” All seemingly suggest they are lyrics from her new record.

Her seventh studio album is set to drop on March 7 and is available for pre-order here.

She has already shared three singles from the forthcoming record: ‘Die With A Smile’ with Bruno Mars, ‘Disease’ and ‘Abracadabra’.

It follows on from 2020’s ‘Chromatica’ and last year’s ‘Harlequin’ companion record.

Gaga recently described the LP as “utter chaos” – revealing that its influences spanned “’90s alternative, electro-grunge, Prince and Bowie melodies, guitar and attitude, funky bass lines, French electronic dance, and analogue synths”.

Meanwhile, she also revealed that she once considered “walking away” from music, saying she was “tested” in the past.

Last Friday (February 14) Gaga teamed up with Andy Samberg for a surprise medley of Lonely Island hits on Saturday Night Live‘s SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert.

Having been previously announced as a performer alongside the likes of the Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Jack White and Miley Cyrus, many fans expected Gaga to perform recent hit ‘Abracadabra‘.

Instead, she kicked things off alongside Brooklyn 99 star Samberg, who joined her wearing a wig and a cowboy hat as he attempted Bradley Cooper’s vocals in a cover of A Star Is Born’s ‘Shallow’ before the duo later launched into the Lonely Island classic, ‘Dick In A Box’, which made its debut during SNL‘s 2006 Christmas episode with Justin Timberlake.

Elsewhere, the night saw the surviving members of Nirvana – Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear – reunite for the second time in two weeks, this time with Post Malone on vocals to perform ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.
