Last month, reports emerged that the pop singer had written new music for the hit Netflix series, in which she will appear as Rosaline Rotwood in the second half of the season.
As she just announced, on September 3 – the same day Part Two of the series drops – fans will get to hear the track, which was reportedly written alongside ‘Mayhem‘ collaborators Andrew Watt and Cirkut specifically for the show.
During an appearance at Spotify and Netflix’s Wednesday Graveyard Gala in New York City on Thursday (August 28), Gaga spoke to fans gathered at the event, saying: “I had a wonderful time working on Wednesday season two, even just being a small part of the show.
“I loved working with Tim Burton and Jenna and everyone here, it’s so incredible. Thank you,” she told the crowd. “I’m also here to confirm my song ‘The Dead Dance’ is coming.”

News of her joining Jenna Ortega for the sophomore season was confirmed in November last year, and the news followed fans recreating Ortega’s viral dance from the show set to the singer’s 2011 track ‘Bloody Mary’ – a trend Gaga herself got involved in.
Ortega opened up about working with Gaga while at SXSW this spring, saying: “It’s the best. She’s the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with. It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much.”
“Then just finding out that she’s such a sweetheart and really kind and reserved, it’s very strange. I love that you never know what to expect from her, but you can always expect kindness and generosity,” Ortega continued.
Joining Gaga in the second season includes Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton and Noah Taylor. Guest appearances will come from Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton and Haley Joel Osment.
Last month, Tim Burton said that he was going to continue his work with the ‘Paparazzi’ singer – teasing an upcoming project and confirming that the two of them worked on “something else” while filming for Wednesday, with some outlets speculating that Gaga had been with Burton on the Island of the Dolls in Xochimilco to film a music video for the song.
In a four-star review of season one, NME wrote: “This is a reinvention, not a rewriting – and the core character survives intact. Wednesday’s acerbic wit, her sassy putdowns, are put to excellent use by Jenna Ortega, who is perfectly cast.
“She’s spoken in interviews about ‘challenges’ and having to fight to protect her vision for the role, but any creative differences appear to have been worked out.”
The first four episodes of Wednesday season two will arrive on August 6, and the second half will arrive on September 3.
