Kiss Announce Massive 50th Anniversary of ‘Alive!’ With Two Complete Unreleased Concerts

You wanted the best, prepare to get even more of the best: Kiss have announced a massive 50th anniversary reissue of their classic Alive! stocked with nearly 90 unreleased tracks.

The Alive! 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition, out November 21, features the band’s 1975 live album newly remastered from the original tapes as well as two more complete and unreleased concerts from July 1975 — from Davenport, Iowa’s RKO Orpheum Theater and Wildwood, New Jersey’s Convention Hall — plus a rehearsal from the Iowa gig and some live recordings from a Cleveland Music Hall gig in June 1975.

“For the Super Deluxe box sets, Eddie Kramer has completed new mixes of these particular gigs, revisiting the original multi-track analog tapes and preserving the raw integrity of the performances with no overdubs,” the press release shares. Alive! previously landed at Number Six on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time.

Ahead of the reissue’s arrival, Kiss have shared the unreleased recording of “C’mon And Love Me” from the Davenport, Iowa show:

Both the Davenport and Wildwood shows also featured tracks dedicated to “Ace Frehley Guitar Solo,” spotlighting the late guitarist’s work on the Dressed to Kill Tour.

In addition to all the unreleased music, the Alive! Super Deluxe editions come packed with reproduction ephemera from the era, including “a reprint of the Alive! 1975 Press Kit, photos, a tour program, a T-shirt iron-on, backstage passes, ticket stubs, posters, an album cover lenticular, four double-sided coasters, four guitar picks, a bumper sticker, an Alive! die-cut double-sided mobile, and more.”

The limited edition set of only 1,000 copies is also accompanied by an archival hardcover book documenting the Dressed to Kill Tour and Gotham Rock City News Volume 4 newspaper featuring a track-by-track interview with Kramer breaking down the majority of songs.
