Kendrick Lamar has written a new song for the forthcoming Captain America: Brave New World.
That’s according to actor Anthony Mackie, who portrays the titular character in the superhero film. During a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, he revealed: “Kendrick did the title song for my movie.”
Mackie added: “Hope that’s not supposed to be a surprise! I’m breaking it here first. I’m so excited, man. The beauty and mastery of his craft…”
Lamar’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows his Black Panther soundtrack album in 2018. The rapper curated the record and contributed the hit songs ‘All The Stars’ with SZA and ‘Pray For Me with The Weeknd.
It is not yet known when Lamar’s new Captain America track will arrive, but it could coincide with the release of the film tomorrow (February 14). It’ll mark his first new material of 2025, following the surprise release of his sixth album ‘GNX’ last November.

Earlier this month, Lamar won five awards at the Grammys 2025, including Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for his Drake diss song ‘Not Like Us’.
Meanwhile, the rapper’s recent Halftime Show has become the most-watched Super Bowl performance in history.
NME ranked the set at Number Three when listing the 10 best Super Bowl Halftime Shows ever: “[Lamar’s] triumphant appearance, which is the latest peak in his current tidal wave of success, featured an unreleased track, a handful of cuts from his latest album ‘GNX’ and largely avoided the biggest anthems of his career.”
