Today (September 12), the rapper took to Instagram to share a new track. It has yet to hit streaming platforms, and is reportedly titled ‘Watch The Party Die’ according to Variety. It marks the rapper’s first new music since ‘Not Like Us’ during his recent feud with Drake.

The video comes with a photograph of beaten up black Air Force 1s, a reference to Drake’s ‘Push Ups’, in which the Canadian musician mocked Lamar’s shoe size. The song also references Drake supporter DJ Akademiks: “The radio personality pushing propaganda for salary / Let me know when they turn up as a casualty.”

Kendrick Lamar also raps a bar suggesting that his beef with Drake isn’t entirely over: “Just walked that man down, that’ll do everyone a solid / It’s love but tough love, sometimes you gotta result in violence.”

Check out the track below.

Most recently, Kendrick Lamar was named the headline perform for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show: “I don’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans, February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress too, even if you’re watching from home. Let’s go.”

After it was announced that Lamar was next year’s Super Bowl Halftime headliner, Jay-Z shared his support for the ‘Not Like Us’ rapper: “Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

The decision behind Lamar securing the headlining spot isn’t without controversy, however. There is a conspiracy circulating that the ‘Not Like Us’ rapper got the gig because of his recent feud with Drake. DJ Akademiks shared a theory that Jay-Z has held a grudge against Drake since he refused to join the launch of the music streaming platform Tidal.

Since the announcement of Lamar’s headlining slot for next year’s Super Bowl Halftime performance, many rappers have come out in support of Lil Wayne – a New Orleans native, who many believe should’ve gotten the slot.
