Kelly Osbourne Breaks Silence After Dad Ozzy’s Death With ‘Changes’ Lyrics

Kelly Osbourne is mourning the death of her dad and rock legend Ozzy. On Thursday, the musician and daughter of the Black Sabbath frontman returned to social media for the first time, using the opening line to “Changes.”

“I feel unhappy,” she wrote. “I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had.”

The new post from Kelly — posted to her story over a black background — is her first public statement since a joint one on behalf of the Osbourne family following news of the metal god’s death. She sang the Black Sabbath favorite with her dad back in 2003. They also performed it together years ago.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” that statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

Just two days before his death, Kelly had shared a video of herself (and her baby Sid) at the breakfast table alongside Ozzy, as he said, “Good morning!” to the camera. Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76. A cause of death was not given, though he battled numerous health issues over the past several years, including Parkinson’s disease and injuries from a fall in 2019.

Ozzy’s death also came just days after Kelly shut down AI videos of Ozzy that made it seem like the rocker knew “he was dying.” In posts on her Instagram, Kelly clarified: “Yes, he has Parkinson’s, and yes, his mobility is completely different than it used to be, but he’s not dying. What is wrong with you?”

An outpouring of tributes were shared this week from Ozzy’s genre- and generation-spanning collaborators, including Slash, Elton John, Motörhead, and Madonna, as well as Busta Rhymes, Yungblud, and Post Malone. John shared an old photo with Osbourne on Instagram, writing: “So sad to hear the news of @ozzyosbourne passing away. He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods — a true legend.”
