The twin sisters — Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield and Swearin’s Allison Crutchfield — enlist MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook for their first new music since P.S. Eliot
Happy Halloween: twin sisters Katie and Allison Crutchfield have reunited for a surprise album under the name Snocaps, out now.
The self-titled album marks the Crutchfield sisters’ first new music together since the days of P.S. Eliot, the feminist punk band that lasted from 2007 to 2011, with a brief reunion in 2016. Katie went on to perform music as Waxahatchee, while Allison formed the band Swearin.’
Snocaps contains 13 tracks, and features MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook. Both musicians are frequent Waxahatchee collaborators: Lenderman provided backing vocals to tracks off 2024’s Tigers Blood, while Cook has been her go-to producer since 2020’s Saint Cloud. All four musicians play a variety of instruments across the record, while Cook lent a hand in engineering and production.

Per the press release, Snocaps will play a handful of shows at the end of the year. Details have yet to be provided, but they revealed they’re the only Snocaps shows for the foreseeable future — so far. “Allison and I have been, in some way, shape or form, doing this together for over 20 years,” Katie said in a statement. “So it is practically a given that they will work together on music at some point again in the future.”
