Karol G Is Bringing Powerhouse Women, Including Elena Rose, on Tour

Karol G is tapping some special guests to open the U.S. leg of her upcoming Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour. Elena Rose will perform in stadiums in the U.S. for the first time with the Colombian superstar, spreading her sound to tons of fans.

“It’s truly a blessing for me,” Rose tells Rolling Stone. “I’m so grateful that Karol and her team have welcomed me with so much love and that I’ll have the opportunity to share my message with so many people. With everything that’s happening in the world right now, people really need a moment to reconnect and to enjoy life. I hope these nights remind us to hold on to one another a little tighter.”

Rose first rose to prominence as a hit songwriter for artists like Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, and Bad Bunny. She also had a hand in penning Becky G’s “Mamiii,” which kindled her friendship with Karol G. As fate would have it, Becky G will also be joining the Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour as a special guest across 10 dates.

Since then, Rose has blossomed into a star in her own right following the release of her debut album, last year’s Bendito Verano. Rose’s anthems include “Cosita Linda” and the empowering “Me Lo Merezco.” Karol G personally invited her to join the stadium tour. “We’ve known each other for a while, and there’s always been mutual respect between us,” Rose says of Karol.

Rose adds how much the tour means to her. “To me, [performing in stadiums] means more hearts to connect with,” Rose says. “Every person in that stadium is carrying something we can’t see. Some people are celebrating, some are healing, and some are simply looking for a moment to feel alive again. If my music can make someone feel a little less alone or remind them that there’s still beauty, hope, and love in the world, then I’ve done what I came here to do.”

Rose will be at the kick-off at the Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour on July 24 in Chicago. She will also open for the concerts in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, and Dallas. With Rose’s arsenal of hits including songs about Venezuela like “Caracas En El 2000,” she is aware of representing her country that is recovering from recent devastating earthquakes.

“Venezuela isn’t just where my family comes from — it’s part of who I am,” she says. “Right now, more than ever, I want every Venezuelan to know that they’re not alone and that we carry them in our hearts wherever we go. If, through my music, I can remind someone of home, give them a little hope, or make them feel proud of where they come from, then that’s one of the greatest honors of my life.”

Back in May, Rose released the EP No Quiero Que Se Acabe Este Bendito Verano. She collaborated with fellow Venezuelan singer Alleh on “TuTuTu” and Colombian star Manuel Turizo on “La Semana.” She adds, “There’s a lot of new music coming. I’ve been writing from a very honest place, and I feel like this next chapter reflects who I am more than ever.”
