Kanye West claims he has been “dreaming” about apologising to Jay-Z

Kanye West has claimed that he has been having dreams about apologising to his long-time collaborator Jay-Z.

Back in April, Ye sent a real-life social media apology to his former mentor, which appeared to relate to previous unfounded and offensive remarks in which he publicly questioned the mental capacity of the rapper and Beyoncé’s youngest children.

Ye also insinuated that the seven-year-old twins of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Rumi and Sir Carter, were conceived through vitro fertilisation. He then deleted the post, but later re-uploaded it, doubling down on his stance and clarifying to his followers that he had not deleted it in order to be “a good person”.

“I’m sorry Jay Z,” Ye later wrote on X. “I be feeling bad about my tweet but I still feel I gave my life to this industry and thought so many people were my family but when I needed family on some real shit none of these rap n****s had my back.”

Ye has continued to reference the matter, writing in a now-deleted and more recent post on X (via Complex): “All my dreams have been about apologizing to Jay Z.”

After the initial comments were made about the children, neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z made any public remarks against Ye. It was reported, however, that they were considering taking legal action against West.

Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles then appeared to hit out at Kanye for the remarks. “It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil,” she wrote on Instagram. “But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper. This battle is not mine, but the Lords, I know that God has got this.”

The ‘Crazy In Love’ singer’s father Matthew Knowles then chimed in too, telling TMZ: “People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry. I’m hopeful Kanye gets the type of help he needs, in terms of mental health.”

Beyond that, West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian has also hit out at the rapper for the comments. An anonymous source spoke to Page Six and said that the reality star was “appalled” by the posts and is “done trying to be reasonable with Kanye when it comes to communication.”

It emerged earlier this month that the rapper had appeared to once again legally change his name, with legal papers having been filed under the name Ye Ye.

This year alone, Ye has written a string of highly controversial posts on X, which saw him take back his apology to the Jewish community for his past anti-Semitic remarks and go on to declare himself “a Nazi”. He also wrote: “I love Hitler”, and praised Elon Musk as “the most lit person that [has] ever been on Twitter”, following the latter being accused of making a Nazi salute at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.
