Today (January 20), new social media accounts for an Australian installation of the popular South Korean music festival Waterbomb were launched on the platforms Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

Both accounts tease an upcoming iteration of Waterbomb to be held in Sydney sometime year. “Get ready to dive into the wildest summer experience ever,” the post’s caption reads, hinting at a possible timeframe. However, specifics about dates and venues have yet to be shared.

The announcement of Waterbomb’s latest stop in Australia comes after the festival expanded overseas for the first time across Asia and the US in 2024. It toured across China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. Waterbomb was also originally planned to make its US debut in LA last year until the show was postponed due to “operational challenges”.

Line-ups for previous Waterbomb installations include several notable K-pop artists such as Chung Ha, GOT7‘s BamBam, 2NE1‘s CL and Sandara Park, girl group VIVIZ and former IZ*ONE singer Kwon Eun-bi. Previous shows also featured a varied line-up of both Korean, local and regional musicians of genres such as EDM, hip-hop and R&B.

In other news, YG Entertainment girl group BABYMONSTER announced the addition of two new stops in the Asian leg of their upcoming 2025 ‘Hello Monsters’ world tour. The seven-piece are set to play shows in Kuala Lumpur and Taipei in late June, following five previously announced stops.
