The Darkness have shared the latest taste of their new album ‘Dreams On Toast’ in the form of ‘Rock And Roll Party Cowboy’ – listen below.
The Justin Hawkins-led band are preparing to release their eighth studio album on March 28 via Cooking Vinyl and you can pre-order/pre-save it here. They have already previewed it with the singles ‘I Hate Myself’ and ‘The Longest Kiss’.
Now, they have channelled the stomping classic rock of bands such as ZZ Top, Motorhead and Judas Priest on ‘Rock And Roll Party Cowboy’, which is packed full of searing guitar solos and theatrical vocals. Check it out here:
Speaking about the track, Hawkins has said: “People recognise me as astronaut pirate movie star cool and that’s obviously accurate. What they may have overlooked though, is that I am also ROCK AND ROLL PARTY COWBOY cool… which is a good 15 percent cooler!!! I think you’ll recognise that in the first listen.”
The Darkness are also set to embark on a UK headline tour in March, with the trek kicking off on March 6 in Ipswich’s Regent’s Theatre and running all the way to a climactic show at the OVO Arena Wembley in London on March 29. Find any remaining tickets here for the tour here. They will then go on to tour around Europe, and they will also make an appearance at Download Festival 2025 this summer.
In other news, Hawkins has defended criticising Liam Payne on his YouTube channel and explained why he isn’t going to remove the post in light of the singer’s death last October.
“It’s really sad what happened to him, but it’s not going to change my view on those specific behaviours,” he told his viewers.
In other news, Hawkins is due to appear on The Stylistics’ first new album in nearly two decades. He contributed to the upcoming record’s opening and title track, ‘Falling In Love With My Girl’.
