Justin Bieber announces new album ‘SWAG II’ via billboards around the world

Justin Bieber has announced his new album ‘SWAG II’ is on its way, just two months after the release of ‘SWAG’.

In a series of social media messages posted on Thursday (September 4), Bieber shared images of billboards around the world showing pink backdrops with the title ‘SWAG II’ printed upon them. All of the posts are captioned: “swag II midnight tonight”.

It would appear that a follow-up to July’s ‘SWAG’ will be available for fans to listen to from midnight on Friday morning (September 5). No further details have been confirmed about the record.

Check out a slew of posts from Bieber below, showing global landmarks doused in the same familiar shade of pink.

‘SWAG’ boasted a run time of just under an hour, with the Canadian singer collaborating with a host of artists including Dijon, Lil B, Sexyy Red, Gunna, Cash Cobain, 2 Chainz and more, with production coming from the likes of Dijon, Mk.gee, Knox Fortune and Daniel Caesar.

Upon the release of ‘SWAG’ in July, NME awarded the album three stars, writing: “‘Swag’ often feels poorly edited, its 21 tracks accumulating into a directionless slog. The production may have its moments, but the lyrics rarely deliver the depth to match. While snippets of Bieber standing up for himself and “standing on business” hint at definitive clapbacks to come, ‘Swag’ ultimately offers up another flurry of question marks in response.”

Bieber’s estranged former manager Scooter Braun described the record as “without a doubt the most authentically Justin Bieber album to date”, calling it “beautiful, raw and truly him”.

‘SWAG’ arrived after a period of intense scrutiny for the singer over mounting concern for his mental health. One incident in particular, where he confronted a photographer and said, “I’m a dad. I’m a husband. You’re not getting it. It’s not clocking to you. I’m standing on business,” went viral online recently, sparking fresh concern.

The singer also shared a post on social media earlier this year in which he said he “hates” himself when he feels that he is becoming “inauthentic”, before adding: “Then I remember we’re all being made to think we’re not enough but I still hate when I change myself to please people.”

It echoed a similar message shared previously, where he addressed his struggles with feeling like a “fraud” on social media. “People told me my whole life ‘wow Justin u deserve that’ and I personally have always felt unworthy. Like I was a fraud.”
