Joe Jonas is going back to his acting career with his new, bittersweet music video for his latest single, “Heart By Heart.”
Directed by Anthony Mandler and released on Thursday (May 15), the clip opens with the superstar having an awkward-but-friendly run-in with an ex on the streets of New York City. After saying goodbye, Jonas wanders through the West Village, flooded with a supercut of memories from the relationship as the love song’s opening chords kick in.
From there, Jonas takes the stage at Bleecker Street Bar with guitar in hand, singing, “Well, if he don’t ever light your spark, remember/ I know your heart by heart/ Just remember, I will always remember/ Remember I will always remember.”

“Heart By Heart” is set to be included on the tracklist for Jonas’ forthcoming sophomore solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, and follows earlier singles “Work It Out” and “What This Could Be.”
During the track’s video shoot in April, the singer opened up exclusively to Billboard about what differentiates his new solo music from his work with Jonas Brothers as well as his band DNCE. “This needed to come from my voice in particular,” he said, later adding, “With my solo album, I feel like this music is like my journal that I carry around all the time, and the poetry I’ve been working.”
Music for People Who Believe in Love is set to be released in full on May 24 via Republic Records. Watch the music video for “Heart By Heart” below.
